30 weeks!!!

So excited to be at 30 weeks now!!!  It seems like a magic number, better than "3rd trimester", the last changing number in the tens column...but not quite cool enough that if I do happen to go into labor they would still pump me full of drugs to stop it.  Boo.

ACTUALLY, right now I'm more excited about Baby Miller than Baby Paulsen.  Baby Miller is due SOON!  Meaning, we'll get a text telling us if its a BOY or GIRL and a NAME!!!  I guess I just need something to look forward to that is sooner than 2.5 months.

The next 2.5 months (plus after the baby is born so more like 4+ months) of NO RUNNING!!!
I'm officially going to die.  I don't know if I've ever gone that long without running.

One of my last runs with the doggies last Saturday

February Decor

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We're celebrating today.  :)

Tim actually dislikes these decorations.  They're probably coming down this weekend...he just thinks they are "too much".  (He's not much of a "pink" guy...when we started dating he had to get used the the fact that I liked pink and I even wore pink)!

I decorated the wreath this month with 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a in mind:
"Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails."
always perseveres, always protects, is kind, never fails, is
patient, always hopes, always trusts

Virtual Hot Chocolate Date

So i've been reading some other mommy/healthy eating/fitness blogs, and I got this idea of a "virtual coffee date" from Jenna over at Eat.Live.Run.

Only I don't like coffee, thus, hot chocolate date! (Btw, did you know the first time Tim and I spent one-on-one time together was at Starbucks in Nipomo, with hot chocolate?)

If we were having a hot chocolate date, I'd tell you that I finished painting Baby's room today!  And we love the colors! It's a green-based white and a darker green that matches with Baby's bedding.  Now I can put the room together, but right now it's full of bins and bags of hand-me-down clothes from my wonderful sister-in-laws Charlotte and Maria!  I'm so excited to go through all of the clothes and things, but as it is overwhelming, I'm looking forward to when Baby is born and I can send back of half of it...either the boy stuff or the girl stuff!
"Asparagus" walls, crib, some bedding, and Kensi :)
"Asparagus" and "Celery Ice" walls, and hand-me-downs!
If we were having a hot chocolate date, I can guarantee I'd tell you something about my doggies.  Like that they keep digging holes in the back lawn, looking for the gopher, and Tim keeps getting frustrated at them.  Yesterday he filled the holes in an re-seeded some of it (and put goat wire over the top to keep them from laying on it).
Before going running on Saturday
If we were having a hot chocolate date (and you had an iphone), I would definitely be telling you about my new favorite app!  It's called Bible Verses (it's free, like all my apps), and the little icon is a picture of a pointer finger with a blue string tied around it.  I love it because its an app that helps you memorize scripture.  You can select verses to be "target verses" that you want to memorize, and then once you do memorize them, they go onto a "memorized" list.  You can use their pre-existing verses, or you can add your own by copy and paste from another Bible app.  You can record audio to listen to the verses, blank out words to practice, or view verses as flash cards.  I'm not much of a memorizer (of anything), but this app has really helped me!

PS.  If we were having a hot chocolate date, I would definitely want to be eating a vegan gingercookie!

Rocket Launch: Atlas V on 3/11/13

Some of you may not know, but, my wonderful husby Tim works for United Launch Alliance.

And tomorrow, they are launching an Atlas V rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base here in central CA.

SpaceFlight Now has all the info.  (Actually, the joke at ULA is that SpaceFlight Now knows things before the employees know it...that they check SpaceFlight Now to see if the launch has scrubbed).

Tim doesn't usually work on the Atlas rockets (he usually works on the Delta IVs), but since they have to clear SLC 6 (where he works, Space Launch Complex 6, pronounced "slick"), he's going over to SLC 3 to be a part of the launch.

Today Tim said there is no solid motors on the Atlas, so it won't be very loud.  And since the launch is scheduled for a 45 minute window beginning at 10:02am, it will be hard to see.  BUT, once again, SpaceFlight Now has a live audiovisual feed that you can watch!  You can also find more info about the Atlas V rocket there, and the satellite they are putting into orbit.  (And yes, they are starting final prep at 2:22am...Tim will leave here around 1:30am for a 12 hour day).

Have fun and I hope you can see the rocket!!!

Socks

Our dogs are ridiculously athletic.

Like, ripped.  And super lean.
(Oh, and they are also super skinny at this point in their lives.)

Recently, Tim has invented a new game to play with them in the evening (or anytime).

We call it "Socks" or "Rag".

Super Bowl Festivities

It would be safe to say this day was not so much about a football game OR a Beyonce concert, but about eating good food and being together with good friends.

We hung out.  We ate good food.  We watched some football.  The guys played basketball.  We ate some more good food.  We watched some more football.  And decided this year was NOT the year for commercials.

28 Weeks: Iron & Etc.

Today I officially met my OB.  You may be wondering how that works.  I'm lucky enough to go to a clinic called SLO City Midwives.  There are two nurse practitioner-midwives (Megan and Julie), who work with an OB (Dr. Spalding).  Megan or Julie will deliver our baby, unless there are complications/I need a c-section, and they will call Dr. Spalding.  The way Megan described it to me on my first visit was that Dr. Spalding is my insurance plan that everything will go well.
